This is, without question, the best car dealership experience I have ever had. Everyone was friendly and helpful, and I experienced no high pressure tactics. The folks at Vandergriff Honda love working there, and it shows in everything they do.
I bought a car from Vandergriff Honda in December. I had such a good experience then, I came back to Vandergriff in February to buy a car for my wife.

Charles Swanson resolved some problem areas related to financing and warranty coverage. He did so quickly and professionally. He treated me with respect and gained my trust. A direct result of my interaction with Mr. Swanson is a loyalty towards Vandergriff Honda, and a desire to purchase another vehicle in the future from this dealership. My satisfaction with my experience buying a car from this dealer is based on the old saying that what is more important than what goes wrong is what someone does about it, and more importantly what they do above and beyond what is required. Vandergriff Honda's customer service has risen to the level of above and beyond as far as I am concerned.
1) We purchased a used 2004 Honda Civic Hybrid on December 22nd, 2009. We also purchased the Honda factory bumper to bumper warranty. When transacting the purchase, the finance person specified in response to my asking that 12-22-09 was the first day the warranty was in effect. This was a car the previous owner had taken to Vandergriff for all service (even replacing wiper blades!) for the last 100,000 miles at the factory recommended intervals. The car was traded late in the afternoon, we purchased the evening of the same day. The following day Vandergriff was going to put the car through the trade-in checklist, detail it, and have ready for me to pick up late in the afternoon.
The following morning during that checklist being run, they determined the hybrid battery needed to be replaced. Consumer cost for that repair was about 50% of the car's purchase price. When the Honda bumper to bumper warranty folks would not honor that, Vandergriff did the repair at their own expense.
2)In the last half of January 2010, when the twice the check engine light indicated the rear catalytic converter (1 of 2) needed to be replaced. Discussing the matter with numerous people at the dealership, I discovered that when dealer personnel were running the trade-in checklist, the service engine code for that catalytic converter had come up. Although no one could explain how that fell through the cracks, what matters is that Vandergriff again did the 'stand up' thing. Not only did they replace the rear catalytic converter, they replaced BOTH catalytic converters, which definitely insured my peace of mind.
3) The only thing that Vandergriff did that I wish had not happened was something Vandergriff had every right to do so according to the Federal Trade Commission (http://www.ftc.gov/os/statutes/fcra/coffey.shtm). We paid for this car in full by personal check which we were told was fine. What we were not told is that they were going to run an inquiry on our credit. If we had been, we would have taken cash.
Knowing that at the start of February we would be pre-qualifying for a mortgage on a house we are building this spring, we are trying to limit any and all inquiries on our credit. Our credit rating has dropped from what it was prior to the purchase of this car. One of the codes in the credit reports is "too many credit inquiries". The two made by Vandergriff would not have occurred if they had been up front about they would be doing that, because we would have explained about not wanting inquiries on our credit history at this time, and could have instead taken them cash. But as I said, this is not something Vandergriff did wrong, just something it would have been nice if they had been more up front about.
Will I buy my next car from Vandergriff Honda? ABSOLUTELY!
Have they earned my trust by doing what is the right thing to do, not just what they are obligated to? AGAIN, ABSOLUTELY!

Vandergriff Honda gets all positive marks from me.
It is mostly due to the efforts of Rene, their salesman.
I let him know what I was looking for and what I could afford and he navigated me through the process.
I left with exactly what I was hoping to get (2010 Honda Insight) at the price I was looking to spend. Rene was very personable and good humored throughout the process and I will definitely be going back to work with him when I'm ready to turn this car in.b1weber,Dewey, OK

My husband and I had a very pleasant car buying experience with Vandergriff Honda. The team was very professional and able to answer any questions we had in regard to the Accord Crosstour. We were never rushed or pushed into a sale. We were offered beverages and then dined at the cafe while our paperwork was prepared. We were told about additional options without feeling pressured into purchasing. We were guided through the interior features which included the blue tooth handsfree connection and memory seating. We absolutely love the Crosstour. It drives very smoothly and has a feeling of luxury comparable to Acura's we have owned in the past without the cost. Our family and friends have been so impressed with our new car and we have raved about the team at Vandergriff. This is our second purchase from Vandergriff Honda and we intend to return in the future.

i was hesitant at first because i can not drive at night. rene and his sales manager assured me that i was going to be able to make it home with out a problem. i went for a certain vehicle, explained to my sales person exactly what i wanted, he asked me what did i need? i told him what i needed and he proceeded to show the vehicle that i 'thought' i wanted and then showed me the vehicle that i indeed needed. if i had the money, i would go back and by another car just because of the service. i was having some issued with my monthly budget but Jimmy Lee was able to work out something that would fit in my budget with the same car. i love my new hybrid. and i love vandergriff. thank you for a blessed experience.
