Performance, Safety and Other Features

The gasoline engine in the 2019 Honda Insight has a displacement of only 1.5 L. This naturally aspirated, four-cylinder powertrain generates a maximum of 107 horsepower and just less than 100 pound-feet of torque. The DOHC valvetrain is managed by the signature i-VTEC technology. Port fuel injection initiates the first phase of combustion in this compact engine block. A conventional AC synchronous electric motor also propels this Honda sedan. Additional power is provided by a classic lithium-ion battery pack. Optimum fuel economy is achieved when the Eco Assist System makes adjustments to the powertrain. The continuously variable transmission system in the 2019 Insight has several smart features that improve performance. This electronically controlled CVT includes the Sport Mode and Decceleration Mode. A shift-by-wire (SBW) function ensures smooth changes in the gearbox. According to a reliable analysis by the EPA, this hybrid Honda car has a fuel economy of 55 MPG in the city.* The LX and EX models offer up to 49 MPG in the city. You'll get a slightly lower fuel economy in the city from the Touring edition.*

Honda Insight

In addition to having an efficient powertrain, the 2019 Insight offers the latest accident-avoidance features that carry the Honda Sensing label. The Forward Collision Warning gives you time to make quick adjustments when a front crash seems imminent. If you don't take sufficient action to prevent a crash, the Collision Mitigation Braking will come on. Some of the car's other driving aides that dramatically reduce the potential for accidents include the Road Departure Mitigation and Lane Keeping Assist. This hybrid Honda sedan also offers a sophisticated cruise control with the Low-Speed Follow technology. The Traffic Sign Recognition and Acoustic Vehicle Alerting System are some all-new features that are installed in this premium model.

Standard in the 2019 Insight EX and Touring, the 8.0-inch display has an electrostatic touch screen. You may use several knobs and hard buttons to browse the menu of the infotainment system. Smartphone integration could be done through Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and HondaLink. An SMS text-messaging function is also included in the wireless Bluetooth system. Music channels in this hybrid Honda sedan include Pandora Internet Radio, HD Radio, and SiriusXM Satellite Radio. The Touring boasts a premium sound system with 10 speakers, including a subwoofer. When playing at maximum volume, the audio system blasts up to 450 watts of clear acoustic waves. The Touring model also offers a mobile hot spot for easy connections to the internet. Additionally, this well-appointed trim comes standard with the Honda Satellite Linked GPS Navigation System. You could listen to Honda HD Digital Traffic updates to avoid local traffic gridlock.
