Honda's racing arm is expanding its scope at this year's SEMA show, showcasing a bold new business approach to creating performance parts for Acura and Honda enthusiasts. Honda Racing Corporation US (HRC US) focuses on track, off-road, and street vehicles and has earned numerous championships across the nation.

HRC Debuts New Developments at SEMA Show

HRC's immediate priority is to give its engineers the opportunity to highlight their skills in the U.S. performance parts retail sector. In August 2024, they introduced a prototype of the Acura Integra Type S HRC at Monterey Car Week, which was a huge success.

David Salters, the president of HRC US, is enthusiastic about the exciting path forward. “At Honda, competition drives our innovative spirit, inspires our best ideas, and powers many of the creative concepts we bring to life,” he shared. “HRC will strengthen connections with Acura and Honda enthusiasts while elevating their driving experience.”

At SEMA, HRC vehicles were on full display, including the Honda IndyCar, Honda CR-V Hybrid Racer, and Honda Civic Type R Pace car. These models attracted attention, highlighting Honda's dedication to both street and off-road designs. HRC US, which started as Honda Performance Development in 1993, remains focused on high-performance vehicles. According to their statement, “HRC US specializes in powertrain, chassis, electronics, and performance parts design and development, along with technical and race support.”

Racing fans can look forward to HRC US continuing to deliver championship-level components to enhance racing and off-road performance. Even those with a general interest in performance cars will find HRC US fascinating.
