Honda Motors marked a landmark occasion at Monterey Car Week in August 2026, honoring over seven decades of racing excellence across automobiles and motorcycles. The celebration featured driving demonstrations, an expansive vehicle display, and the debut of the brand's official Heritage Program.
Honda's Celebratory Events
Center stage at the celebration was the launch of the HRC Heritage Racing Program, which gives enthusiasts the opportunity to acquire, restore, and run historic competition machinery. The program features select Acura and Honda models that previously competed on legendary courses, including Daytona, Le Mans, Sebring, and Laguna Seca. The first car made available through the program was the #28 XM Satellite Radio AGR Acura ARX-01a, on view during "A Motorsports Gathering" at The Quail. Each restored machine balances historical preservation with key updates for safety and visual elegance.
In addition to the program, Honda displayed 20 historic racing vehicles that earned honors in IndyCar, Formula 1, IMSA, Baja racing, MotoGP, SCCA, Dakar, AMA Supercross, Formula Xtreme, and the Isle of Man Tourist Trophy. Attendees encountered these legendary machines at high-profile Monterey events, including Motorlux, The Quail, the Concours d'Elegance at Pebble Beach, and the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion at Laguna Seca.

The automaker is the most successful manufacturer in Indianapolis 500 history, with 17 overall wins. Honda has also captured 25 Grand Prix and MotoGP Constructors' Championships, as well as six Formula 1 Drivers' Championships and six Formula 1 Constructors' titles.
Honda Racing Corporation, established in 1982, remains the focal point of Honda's racing operations. Highlights of this motorsports legacy are maintained at the American Honda Collection Hall and the Honda Collection Hall in Japan.
