2025 Honda Pilot Sport vs 2025 Honda Pilot TrailSport

Honda touts the 2025 Pilot as a "full-size SUV engineered for off-road prowess," designed for families seeking more than just the usual Sunday jaunt or city commute. Yet Honda hasn't forgotten tradition, offering two compelling trims: the Sport for everyday journeys and the TrailSport for off-road challenges. Which is best for you depends on how you plan to drive your Pilot.

Performance

Both the Sport and TrailSport are powered by a 285-horsepower V6 mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission. TrailSport, however, adds an off-road-tuned suspension, all-terrain tires, and the Multi-View camera system with TrailWatch for confident trail navigation. If your family's idea of fun includes off-road routes, TrailSport answers the call.

Appearance

Sport and TrailSport trims present distinct exteriors. The Sport is outfitted with 20-inch alloy wheels and all-season tires, whereas TrailSport opts for 18-inch alloys and more aggressive all-terrain rubber. TrailSport also equips skid plates and LED fog lights for added protection and visibility. Families will also value the TrailSport's power liftgate, making loading bulky equipment easier.

Features

Inside, the Sport cabin impresses with heated front seats and tri-zone automatic climate control, though it lacks some TrailSport luxuries. TrailSport upgrades include second-row captain's chairs, a one-touch power moonroof, and a 245-watt audio system. Signature synthetic-leather seats with orange stitching give the TrailSport interior a dynamic flair. Both trims come standard with Honda Sensing safety features-collision Mitigation Brakes, Blind Spot Information System with Cross Traffic Monitor, and Road Departure Mitigation-while only TrailSport adds parking sensors and the TrailWatch camera system.
