What's New for the 2018 Honda Ridgeline?

The 2018 Honda Ridgeline is the newest Honda vehicle to hit the market for this upcoming year. The new Honda Ridgeline is a pickup truck that has been built to be a more comfortable and versatile vehicle, but with few new updates. For example, the RTS trim level has been removed as an option but keeps much of the qualities of the Sport trim level around, so it basically remains as the same vehicle from the previous year. The new Ridgeline can also tow up to a maximum of up to 5,000 pounds.

The 2018 Ridgeline is now equipped with several features and trim levels to match its outlook. The Ridgeline has six different trim levels for this model: the RT, Sport, RTL, RTL-T, RTL-E and the Black Edition. The RT trim level is the base trim level and contains features like 18-inch alloy wheels, cruise control, access to BlueTooth connectivity and an audio system with seven speakers. The Sport trim is slightly improved with alloy wheels that are gray-painted, keyless entry and ignition and tri-zone automatic climate control. The RTL trim now has leather seating with heated front seats, 8-way power adjustments and heated outside mirrors. The RTL-T trim model has LED daytime running headlights and a LaneWatch blind spot camera system for dealing with heavy traffic, as well as HD radio, satellite radio and Apple CarPlay. The RTL-E trim is more advanced than the previous RTL-T with more adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, lane departure warning, LED headlights and an upgraded sound system. The Black Edition is simply an RTL-E extension that is covered in black paint with black-painted wheels and black leather seats with red accents on them.

All trim models of the Ridgeline come with an engine that boasts up to a 280 horsepower rating at up to 6,000 wheel revolutions per minute, while being able to produce up to 262 feet per pounds of torque. The engine runs with V6 cylinders, features all-wheel drive and a 6-speed automatic transmission to match. The truck also runs on regular unleaded fuel, with an EPA of 21 miles per gallon, getting an estimated 18 MPGs when in the city and 25 when on the highway.**

Improved stability and traction control is one of the many adjustments made for vehicle safety. This also includes child seating anchors and rear door safety locks to keep track of the younger passengers. A post-collision safety system has also been included in order for drivers to check the vehicle's status in the event of an accident. An engine immobilizer is included as well as an emergency braking assist feature for any potential engine trouble. Airbags, naturally, are always readily included such as dual front side-mounted airbags and ones for the front and rear of the driver and passenger seats.
