What's New For the 2020 Honda Clarity?
This year, the Honda Clarity provides the flexibility and advantages of plug-in hybrid technology. It makes use of both an electric motor with the resilience of a gas motor. With this, it also promises to update its audible alert feature and improve its cold-weather start-up performance. Here are some of the advantages of the Honda Clarity.
What Are the 2020 Clarity Trims & Features?
The Honda Clarity is available in two versions, the Plug-in Hybrid and the Fuel Cell. Available nationwide, Plug-in Hybrid offers two kinds of trims, the base and Touring. The base trim comes with many beneficial features, such as the 18-inch alloy wheels. Its interior provides the proximity entry and push-button start, adaptive cruise control, automatic LED headlights, and a backup camera, dual-zone automatic climate control for a smoother drive. Additionally, the Clarity has cloth upholstery, a height-adjustable driver's seat, and a 60/40 split-folding back seat. The base trim also offers Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, two USB ports for charging, a satellite, and HD radio with an 8-speaker sound system.Â
While the Touring provides leather upholstery, power front seats, leather-wrapped steering wheel, and integrated navigation, it also gives remote climate conditioning. It is an elevated version of the base in terms of comfort, upholstery, and factory navigation. Unfortunately, the Fuel Cell is only sold in California and shares the same features with Touring.

2020 Honda Clarity Performance
The Clarity has a combined output of 212 horsepower. It flaunts a vast electric range in the plug-in with an estimate of 48 miles of electric-only driving range, then the gas engine takes over. The gas engine is a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine, and it is mainly used as a generator for the batteries. The PHEV comes with a 181-horsepower electric motor and is fed by a 17.0-kWh lithium-ion battery pack. It can reach 60 mph in about 7.7 seconds. The fuel cell is hydrogen-powered, and it contains a 174-horsepower electric motor. It can reach 60 mph in about 8.1 seconds.
Packed With Safety Features
The vehicle has a backup camera and lane-keeping assist to keep the vehicle in the lane warning the driver when crossing a lane without signaling. Another notable feature is the LaneWatchâ„¢ blind-spot monitoring system. This safety feature shows a video in real-time of the passenger-adjacent lane from the small camera on the side mirror whenever you use the turn signal. This vehicle also comes with front-side and full-length side-curtain airbags, a forward-collision warning for protection, and a driver knee airbag. Adaptive cruise control helps keep the vehicle at a constant speed, allowing you to set an interval behind the vehicle ahead. These features help maintain stability and traction control. The two resilient carbon-fiber tanks that were designed can resist any impact.
