What's New For the 2020 Honda Odyssey?

This model has defied industry history and has been around for 25 years. During that span, it has undergone changes both major and minor but continues as one of the top-rated minivans on the market. For 2020, all Odyssey trims now come with a 10-speed automatic transmission. This year's model is part of the fifth-generation Odyssey introduced in 2016, so buyers will notice very little change in the vehicle's outward appearance or interior features. However, choosing the right trim comes only after a close inspection of this award-winning minivan.

2020 Honda Odyssey Interior

2020 Odyssey Trims & Features

The whole idea of a minivan is to open up as much space as possible, and this is why these models are so popular with families. The interior of the 2020 Odyssey is cavernous, to say the least. The sliding rear doors open with ease, and it's easy to step through them and gain access to the center row of seats. Drivers will appreciate the wide adjustment range of the driver seat and steering column. The second-row seats have a nifty slide and recline feature. With the second- and third-rows seats folded, more than 156 cubic feet of cargo space is available.

The base LX trim comes with automatic climate control, power-adjustable front seats, a split-folding rear seat, a 5-inch display screen, Bluetooth, and a seven-speaker audio system. The EX adds on power-sliding rear doors, heated front seats, a removable center seat in the second row, an 8-inch touchscreen, and smartphone app integration. The EX-L gets leather upholstery and a power liftgate. The Touring trim boasts a hands-free liftgate and an on-board vacuum cleaner. This trim also has a rear-cabin monitoring system. The Elite trim comes with ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and wireless phone charging. This trim also gets a premium audio system.

2020 Honda Odyssey Horsepower

2020 Honda OdysseyAll trims are powered by 3.5L V6 rated at 280 horsepower. Transmission is a 10-speed shiftable automatic, and power is sent to the front wheels. The van has very precise steering and stable handling even at high speeds. Even when fully loaded with passengers and cargo, the 2002 Odyssey goes from a full stop to 60 mph in just 7.6 seconds, and drivers can choose to use the paddle shifters if they want to do the shifting themselves.

Honda Odyssey Safety

2020 Honda OdysseyHonda has incorporated the latest in safety and security into this model. A rearview camera is standard on all trims, and the EX and above trims come with adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, and blind-spot monitoring. The uplevel trims also come with lane-keeping assist and telematics features, including roadside assistance and automatic collision notification. The 2020 Odyssey is equipped with antilock brakes, stability and traction control, front airbags, rear curtain airbags, child seat anchors and tethers, and a post-collision safety system.

The NHTSA awarded the 2020 Odyssey with a perfect five-star rating for overall front collision protection, side crash protection, and combined side barrier and pole strength. This is one of the safest minivans on the market.
