What's New For the 2021 Honda Insight?

The 2021 Honda Insight is smaller than the Honda Accord but more substantial than the Honda Civic.This new model has impressive safety features, including a blind-spot alert monitor that consists of a cross-traffic. This safety feature is standard on the EX and Touring trims, and other new features include the leather seats, dual-zone climate control, and navigation that are common on the Touring trim.

What are the Honda Insight Trims and Features?

The 2021 Honda Insight has three trim levels: LX, EX, and Touring. If you go for the base trim model, you will enjoy plenty of driver assistance features and an infotainment system with a 5-inch LCD screen. Other standard features include automatic climate control, hill start assist, and a three-mode drive system (ECON, Sport, and EV). 

The EX trim level adds to the LX offerings with a 180-watt audio system with 8-speakers, an infotainment system with an 8-inch display featuring Android Auto and Apple CarPlay integration, remote engine start, HD radio, SiriusXM radio, and HondaLink. The Touring trim includes a 450-watt premium audio system with 10-speakers, including a subwoofer, moonroof, HondaLink subscription services, Wi-Fi hotspot, and Honda Satellite-linked navigation system with voice recognition.

What's Under the Hood of the Honda Insight?

Each trim offers a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine attached to two electric motors that combined, puts out 151.5 horsepower, and 200 lb-ft of torque. This is paired with a single-speed electronic continuously variable transmission. The electric motor controls the front wheels, while the lithium-ion battery gets its power from the gas engine. The fuel economy of the LX and EX trims are 55 mpg in the city, 49 mpg on the highway, while the Touring gets 51 mpg in the city, 45 mpg on the highway.

Honda is known for its safety and dependability, and the Insight includes a full set of safety and driver-assistive tech features. Honda Sensing Technologies is standard across all trims. They include the Road Departure Mitigation System, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keeping Assist System, Collision Mitigation Braking System, Traffic Sign Recognition, Forward Collision Warning, and Lane Departure Warning. Blindspot Information System with Cross Traffic Monitor is standard on the EX and Touring trims.
