2021 Honda Passport Exterior

What's New For the 2021 Honda Passport?

Back after an absence for almost two decades, the Honda Passport immediately received acclaim for its well-rounded engineering as a midsize crossover SUV. The 2021 model year introduces an 8-inch touchscreen and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration as standard infotainment features.

What Are the Passport Trims & Features?

The 2021 Passport is available in four trim levels: Sport, EX-L, Touring, and Elite. It is a two-row vehicle with seating for up to five people. The EX-L trim boosts comfortability by introducing leather seat trim, front-seat heating and power adjustability, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and driver-seat memory. For ultimate convenience, though, go with the top-level Elite trim for perforated leather seat trim, rear-seat heating, and front-seat cooling.

In addition to the 8-inch touchscreen and smartphone integration, the Passport provides a seven-speaker AM/FM stereo, Bluetooth, and a USB port, and an audio jack to play media from mobile devices. A second USB port is present for charging mobile devices. Other standard amenities include tri-zone automatic control, proximity keyless entry, push-button engine start, and remote engine start.

The Passport is enhanced at the EX-L trim level with features such as an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a garage door opener, a trial subscription to SiriusXM Radio subscription, and a second charging-only USB port, and CabinControl for controlling in-car functions remotely). The Touring gains a Wi-Fi hotspot, a navigation system, and a 10-speaker stereo system. Only the Elite trim has wireless phone charging ability.

A Perfect Blend of Power and Fuel Efficiency

The Honda Passport's powertrain consists of a 280-horsepower 3.5-liter V6 and a nine-speed automatic transmission for robust acceleration and smooth driving feel. Paddle shifters are present for more operational convenience, and idle-stop technology eliminates engine idling to boost fuel economy to 20/25 mpg. Although front-wheel drive is standard, all-wheel drive is optional for 2021.

The 2021 Honda Passport Has a Long List of Safety Features

Safety on the Honda Passport centers around the Honda Sensing suite of driver-assistance technologies, consisting of adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, auto high beam technology, collision mitigation braking, and road departure mitigation, forward collision warning, and lane departure warning. There's also a rearview camera to prevent bumping into something when backing out of somewhere. Six airbags are included to avoid injury during a crash. A blind-spot information system is added on the EX-L, and the Touring and Elite trims gain both front and rear parking sensors to optimize the rearview camera's functionality.
